Your family's stories stay your family's

What we keep

• Your account: username, email, and your password, which is stored only as a secure hash, never as the password itself.
• Growth Assistant: what you choose to write: your child's nickname, an optional birthday, interests, moments and feelings, and how stories went.
• Stories you make with AI: their text, and any audio or pictures you choose to make and keep.
• Your recordings: a reading you record with “Record with my voice” stays in your own browser. Only if you send it to your speaker is a copy kept in your account.
• Voice copies (Your Voice): the sample you record and the voice made from it.
• Listening: history, favourites and your speaker's name.
• Preorders and messages: what you fill in on the preorder and contact forms.
• In your browser: one sign-in cookie, and a few settings such as bedtime mode. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Who can see it

• Only your family. Your Growth Assistant, AI stories, recordings, voices, history and favourites can only be opened with your account (and played by your own speaker).
• No public profiles, no sharing between families. Other families never see what you make.
• The site admins can see what's needed to run the service: usernames, emails, whether AI features are turned on, usage counts, AI story titles, voice names and preorders. They cannot read your Growth Assistant entries, listen to your recordings or read your stories through the site.

Services that help us

Some features need trusted services, which handle your data only to do that job for us:

• Vercel hosts the site and stores its data, privately, in the United States.
• OpenAI writes AI stories, draws pictures, makes AI voice readings, checks content for safety, and suggests ideas in the Growth Assistant. Under its business terms, OpenAI doesn't use data sent this way to train its models.
• ElevenLabs makes voice copies from the sample you record, and reads stories in that voice.
• Resend sends our emails, such as password resets.

We send each of them only what that feature needs, for example the moment you wrote when you ask for a story about it.

Children

Accounts are for grown-ups. Children enjoy the stories with a parent or caregiver, who sets everything up. We don't knowingly let children create accounts; if you think a child has made one, please tell us and we'll delete it.

Keeping it safe

• Everything travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and stored data is private, never published on the web.
• Every request checks that it belongs to your account before anything is shown or played.
• The paid AI features are turned on for an account only after the site admins approve it.

Deleting your data

• You can remove moments, stories, recordings and voices yourself, at any time.
• To delete your whole account, or to get a copy of your data, contact us. We delete the account and everything kept with it from our storage.
• We keep your data until you delete it or ask us to.

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and its date. Questions are always welcome on the contact page.
